Physicals are an important part of staying healthy. They help catch problems early and prevent any newly discovered health issues from becoming more serious.
During a physical, our provider will take a medical history and check your vital signs before performing the exam. The medical history will help us to better understand your overall health and any potential risk factors for disease. Your vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate, can provide important information about your current health status.
The exam itself will often focus on the body systems most likely to be affected by your age, lifestyle, and medical history. For example, a young, healthy patient may only require a basic physical exam, while an elderly patient with multiple chronic conditions may need a more comprehensive exam.
Annual physicals are an important part of maintaining good health and catching potential problems early.
School physicals are an annual checkup performed by a medical professional to ensure that a child is healthy and up to date on their vaccinations.
The physical will include taking your child's height, weight, blood pressure measurements, and listening to their heart and lungs. Our healthcare provider will also check your child’s vision and hearing and may perform some simple tests of coordination and flexibility. In addition, our provider will ask about any medical concerns or allergies.
School physicals are an important part of keeping children healthy, and they provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions and get advice from a medical expert.
Camp physicals help to ensure that your child is ready for a safe and enjoyable summer at camp.
Every summer, thousands of kids head off to camp to enjoy a summer of swimming, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. While camp is a great way for kids to stay active and make new friends, it's important to make sure that they are physically prepared for the activities they'll be participating in. That's why many camps require campers to get a physical before they arrive.
Camp physicals are similar to regular physicals, but with a few extra considerations. Our provider will ask about your child's medical history and any allergies they may have. We will also check your child’s height and weight to make sure they're developing appropriately for their age.
Finally, we will perform a basic physical examination, which will include listening to your child’s heart and lungs and checking their vision and hearing.
A sports physical is a special type of exam designed to assess you or a loved one’s fitness for participation in a specific type of sport. The exam assesses your musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems.
Our healthcare providers will also look for signs of injuries, such as sprains or strains that may make certain activities difficult. We will assess the range of motion of your joints and the flexibility of your muscles.
The purpose of the sports physical is to ensure that you can safely participate in athletic activities.
